Membership of the choir is open to all, and brings people of many nationalities together in harmony. The different nationalities include local residents who are English, Dutch, German, Spanish, Swedish, Italian, and so on. We are a friendly group of about 40 who gain much pleasure from singing under the expert guidance of our Musical Director Rick van de Ven, with help from our pianist Miguel Navarro Jimenéz.
Our repertoire runs from classical to modern day. Songs are mostly in English, with some in other languages, including Spanish and Latin. We put on two or three concerts a year in Cómpeta, sometimes performing together with other choirs.
Singing in a choir necessarily involves focussed concentration, which helps to keep the brain active, while singing together with other people offers the additional benefits of a sense of community, friendship and shared endeavour. Singing in a choir gives you a real buzz.
We are very fortunate to have the support of the Ayuntamiento de Cómpeta who provide our rehearsal space and print our music, programmes and posters.
Rehearsals are held in the Ayuntamiento building every Monday at 14:45
